Is my ID data secure?
Yes. We use Didit, a bank-grade identity verification partner. Your ID images are processed securely and are never stored on our public servers or visible to other users.
Can I see other users' full names?
For privacy, full names are only revealed after a mutual match or booking is confirmed. Until then, users see first names and verification badges.
What disqualifies someone from the platform?
Violent criminal history, recent evictions, and identity fraud will result in an account ban. We prioritize the physical and financial safety of our community above all else.
Membership & Billing
Why is there a membership fee?
Unlike free sites filled with bots and scammers, we charge a one-time fee to cover the cost of federal background checks and ID verification. This creates a high-intent, serious community of renters.
Is the $89 fee refundable?
Because the fee covers immediate third-party verification costs, it is generally non-refundable once the background check has been initiated.
Do I have to pay monthly?
No! The membership is a one-time payment for lifetime access. You can move, leave, and come back years later without paying again.

What is Cohabidate?
Cohabidate is our exclusive matching engine that goes beyond rent and location. It uses personality psychology and lifestyle habits (cleanliness, schedule, social battery) to find compatible roommates.
Can I filter by diet or smoking habits?
Yes. Our detailed filters allow you to find households that match your specific lifestyle, including vegan/vegetarian kitchens, substance-free homes, or 420-friendly spaces.
Do I have to answer the drug/alcohol questions?
These fields are optional, but highly recommended. Being honest about your habits ensures you match with people who are comfortable with your lifestyle, preventing future conflicts.

Does it cost money to list a property?
Listing a property is free for landlords. We verify your tenants for you, saving you the cost and hassle of running your own background checks.
I live in the property I'm renting. Do I need to verify?
Yes. If you are a "live-in" landlord sharing common spaces, we require you to verify your identity and complete a personality profile to ensure safety and compatibility for your tenant.
Can I set credit score requirements?
Absolutely. You can set minimum credit scores and income requirements (e.g., 3x rent) directly in your listing settings.
